Shyok and Nubra Valley
Khardung la is the gateway to Shyok and Nubra Valley. Diskit, Hunder and Panamik falls within the Shyok and Nubra valleys and is part of the Nubra division of tourist circuits laid down by the government.

Few kms ahead from Khalsar the road bifurcates into two, road on the left leading to Diskit while the road on the right goes to Panamik.
Valleys in Leh Ladakh
Leh is the land of valleys and mountain passes offering breathtaking views and panorama to remember for a lifetime! There are many valleys however the most visited valley in Leh Ladakh probably is the Nubra valley. The Rupshu valley with Tso Moriri is also very popular.
The Suru and Zanskar valleys in the neighbouring Kargil district part of the erstwhile Ladakh is also very picturesque and a popular destination amomgst mountaineers.
Indus Valley
A large valley formed by the main channels of the Indus River, Indus valley includes parts Khaltse Sub-Division tourist circuit of Leh. Major part of the surroundings of Leh town also falls within Indus valley.
Rangdum in the Suru valley is a plateau surrounded by the magnificent hills on one side and rocky mountains on the other at an altitude of 3657 meters. Rangdum is a six hour drive from Kargil. The 18th century Buddhist monastery is a major attraction in Rangdum which is home to around 40 monks. There are a few camps around Rangdum monastery offering accommodation to tourists.
Opened for tourists in 2009 Turtuk offers beautiful view of the Shyok Vally. Turtuk was under control of Pakistan however India took over control during Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. There are few memorials built in memory of soldiers on Main Road going towards the zero point of India Pakistan Line of Control. Turtuk is 80km beyond Hunder and the way to Turtuk from Hunder is very scenic.
Located near the Penzella pass Nun Kun is a pair of mountain peaks with heights touching over 7000 mts. The Nun Kun massif also has many other peaks and is a popular mountaineering site as well as camping site. The climbing period in this region extends from early June to mid October.
Zanskar valley is a region with harsh climatic consitions and stays cut off from the outer world for almost 6 - 7 months every year. Padum is the HQ of zabskar region. Pensi La pass seperates Zanskar Valley from Suru Valley.
