Zanskar is a high altitude semi-desert lying on the Northern flank of the Great Himalayan Range. Zanskar valley is the region lying between the twom main tributaries of Zanskar river - Doda and Kargyag river.

Zanskar is very popular amongst adventure enthusiasts and Zanskar doesnt dissappoint any of them. Zanskar river is one of the best sites for white water rafting in India with rapids of grade III and IV. Mountaineering and trekking is also very popular oin this region. The Zanskar valley continues into the Suru valley with the Pensi La pass almost midway between them.
